The Power Of History: Undeniable

Updated: Apr 30, 2018

The purpose of developing my Reading List was twofold:

  1. To gain a broader and deeper personal understanding and appreciation of the African American experience in America, as well as the experiences of people of color around the world, and

  2. To expand the knowledge of high school students in the Sunday School classes I taught for 26 years about their history.

The List can serve as a tool for persons desiring to know more about their roots from an historical perspective.  Since my List was started in the early 1980s and is not exhaustive, it may generate interest in others to expand the List to include some additional historical publications.  The books on the List have greatly influenced me.
