Short Biography
Robert Louis Shepard is an American chemist, science advocate, author, mentor, and motivational speaker.
He is recognized for pioneering work to increase participation of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) in federal research.
Born on December 25, 1947, he dedicated his career to advancing science education and research collaborations.
The Mural of Shepard is on the wall in the entryway to the cafeteria in the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) Headquarters on Rockville Pike in Rockville, Maryland.
